That is true of any leadership role in any area of life. The Young Women’s Civic Club is committed to opening the kinds of leadership opportunities that not only develop these skills in young women, but also significantly benefit the Mobile area. Every effort our members undertake must meet the criteria of enhancing Mobile’s economic, civic and social growth.
While the projects we commit to are often quite serious, we have a stated goal of having fun, too! We welcome every young woman with open arms and want to hear each and every idea. What emerges as the final product is a combination and a compliment to every member who participates.

Throughout our history we have welcomed the opportunity to work on these and other exciting and beneficial programs:
- Raised $20,000 in 4 years to benefit the University of South Alabama’s effort to build a Cancer Research Center.
- Provide an annual $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior who is currently serving on the Azalea Trail Maid Court.
- Hold annual fundraisers that raise thousands of dollars for the USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital along with the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.
- Contribute to other local charities, provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as adopt a family in need at Christmas.
